Here are my two latest paintings that are based on travel memory. Just lately I have been fascinated by the ornate and decorative urban landscapes found in the narrow streets of Porto, Lisbon and Olhao.
These paintings were made without reference to drawings or photographs. They are a subconscious transfer of a mishmash of memories combined with pure imagination.

‘Casa’ or ‘An imaginary home’ 100 x 100 cms, acrylic on canvas

‘Passing through’ 90 x 90 cms, acrylic on canvas
So lovely, Mary. My daughter recently visited Lisbon and loved it. Your work always make me smile.
Thank you
Gorgeous layers of color and pattern! You are inspiring me to think about how I can translate the emotions of walking down a narrow, overflowing street of ancient buildings in Nepal… I love your work.
Thank you Colleen – I did really enjoy painting both of these. Would be lovely to see a Nepal inspired painting!
